Localization in IT and Communication Sector and changes in Nitaqat. The Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Eng.Ahmed Al-Rajhi, issued a decision to regulate the facilities of the communications and information technology sector, as of the first of Shaaban next, within the framework of the existing cooperation between the Ministry and each of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, the Human Resources Development Fund, Hadaf, and the Council of Saudi Chambers.

Localization in IT and Communication Sector and changes in Nitaqat

The issued decision stipulated the abolition of the main activities in the enterprise incentive program for the localization of jobs “Nitaqat”, as of 08/01/1442 AH, according to the following table: (Current activity name: Information Technology and Communication)

It also included the creation of (7) main activities in “Nitaqat” according to the following table and the localization percentages mentioned in the appendix of this regulation: (name of the new activity: operation and maintenance of information technology, operation and maintenance of communications, information technology infrastructure, communication infrastructure, information technology solutions, Communications solutions, mail activities).

The Ministry affirmed that the decision comes to regulate the work of the establishments of this important and vital sector, and to achieve the objectives of Localization by creating more distinct and decent job opportunities for the citizens, and raising their participation in the labor market and the gross domestic product.
