On 21st January 2020, Jawazat issued advice to all Expatriates that they should register on Absher. By registration, they mean on electronic services or online portal. More details on it below.

Absher is an official portal created by Jawazat. The purpose of the platform is to manage, update and communicate. The benefit of registering to the Absher platform helps expatriates to utilize the services sitting at home. These services include driving license, iqama, payments, family data and much more.

Moreover, the employer data can also be accessed via this platform. It is a very beneficial centralize platform for people living in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Arabia is increasing the utilization of digital services because it is what millennials want globally. It has become a requirement rather than a service for a country like Saudi Arabia to offer such services.

The Directorate General of Passports recommends for employees to register on the platform. Expatriates can use the services for compliance and procedures. But the electronic service reduces the crowd in the Government office. This is because of the ease of using apps and digital services sitting at home.
