Al-Ula Airport begins receiving international flights. The approval of the General Authority for Civil Aviation has been issued to start receiving international flights at Prince Abdul Majeed bin Abdulaziz Airport in Al-Ula.

After all operational requirements are met in accordance with international standards and in line with the needs of the competent authorities Operating at the airport, Al-Ula International Airport has witnessed, since August 2019, a number of development projects implemented by the General Authority for Civil Aviation in cooperation with the Royal Commission for Al-Ula Governorate, to keep pace with the expected growth of air traffic in the region, as a global destination and in line with the Kingdom 2030, and commensurate with the identity of the province in order to highlight Civilization, cultural and environmental aspects.
Vision goals and development work included doubling the capacity from 100 thousand to 400 thousand passengers annually, while the total area of the airport reached about two million and 400 thousand square meters.

The airport included several facilities and services, including the executive lounge, which was designed according to the latest international standards and with advanced technologies, and an infrastructure that keeps pace with the unique environment, in addition to the headquarters of the security project, which is the most recent development projects at the airport, in addition to the availability of all services and facilities, the investment environment, and increasing the capabilities of the aviation yard. To be among the top 10 airports in the Kingdom with an area of 49,000 square meters, which can accommodate 15 commercial airplanes at one time.
