The Saudi Supreme Court issued a statement urging residents to report any sightings to the appropriate authorities, either with the naked eye or using binoculars. Once sighted, the discovery should be promptly reported to the nearest court or center. Ramadan, which began on March 11 in 2024, entails abstaining from eating and drinking from sunrise to sunset. The Islamic calendar, based on the lunar cycle, consists of 12 months totaling either 354 or 355 days. Ramadan falls on the ninth month, concluding with Eid al-Fitr.

On April 5, millions of Muslims gathered at Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mosque in Mecca for the final Friday prayer of Ramadan, a significant event in the holy month. Saudi Arabia has previously declared paid holidays for both public and private sector employees to celebrate Eid al-Fitr, with five days off starting from April 9, including the weekend. Various events, concerts, light displays, and fireworks are scheduled throughout the Kingdom.
