The Queensland government-funded research by biotechnology company Cheng Technologies with A $ 1.5 million (US $ 1.07 million) to spend on the project, which the researchers described as operating in a way similar to a pregnancy test.
Chief researcher Yadver Grewal said, according to “German News Agency”, that the test is based on placing a few drops of a special solution on the nasal swab, then the test is applied to a strip, and the result can be obtained within 5 to 15 minutes, depending on the severity injury.
The researcher explained that the yeast contains particles that can trap the virus, indicating that this test, which he described as fast and cheap, can be used when entering high-risk places, such as hospitals, shopping malls, and elderly care facilities.
