Pakistan Doctors group (PDGR) Riyadh celebrated independence day of Pakistan with great jubilation and patriotism.
Waqar Naseem Wamiq, Riyadh – Pakistan Doctors group (PDGR) Riyadh organized a virtual Jashan E Azadi Celebration session on August 14th, 2020 bringing together a galaxy of Pakistani diplomats, intellectuals and leaders in health care, education and economics.

The event was attended by a large number of Pakistani expats
in Saudi Arabia. H.E The Ambassador of Pakistan Mr. Raja Ali Ejaz also graced the occasion extending warm greetings to the Pakistani community and highlighted the significance of the day.
The Ambassador of Pakistan emphasized Pak-Saudi bilateral relations and commended the services of the government of Saudi Arabia especially in the current COVID-19 pandemic. National anthems of both Pakistan and Saudi were played on this occasion as a note of tribute to Pak-Saudi’s friendship.

Among notable personalities who addressed the audience included former Diplomats in KSA, Mr. Naeem Khan, Mr. Manzoor Ulhaq, Mr. Hisham Bin Siddique, dignitaries, Dr. Abdul Bari, CEO, Indus Hospital network, Dr. Amjad Saqib, Founder Akhuwat Foundation, Pakistan, Lt Gen (R)
Naweed Zaman, Rector NUST, Dr. Shujaat Nadeem, Chairman Samba Pakistan, Dr. Amir Burney, President, Association of Pakistani Physicians for Northern Europe (APPNE), UK, Mrs. Zarminae Ansari ( CEO) and Mr. Aleem Zafar (Advisor and head), Joy of Urdu, Lahore.
All distinguished diplomats and guests highlighted the significance of independence day and emphasized the great sacrifices of the Muslim leaders under the exemplary patronage of the founder of Pakistan Mr. Muhamad Ali Jinnah. They underlined Pakistan’s regional and global importance citing the historical, geo-strategic location and rich natural resources of our beloved country.
In their live messages with great patriotic zeal and fervor, they eulogized great services of Pakistani doctors for the Pakistani community and paid sincere tributes to King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz and his team for the unprecedented role to ensure regional and international peace and integrity especially in the Muslim Ummah. They called upon all the citizens of our beloved country Pakistan to contribute to the welfare and development and collective building of our nation.
We are patriotic Pakistanis ready to offer our services for our nationals across the globe, they remarked in their online video address to the community. Chairman PDGR, Dr. Riaz Khawaja also greeted the participants with Independence Day message.
Anwar Maqsood
A recorded video message of the renowned scriptwriter and TV host Mr. Anwar Maqsood was also shared with the participants. Maj. Gen. (R) Khawar Hanif also extended his Jashan Azadi greetings with the participants in absentia.
Dr. Asadullah Roomi, President PDGR, Dr. Ishfaq Bukhari, General secretary, Dr. Tanveer Aziz, Chairman PDGR social wing, Dr. Badar Jamil, and Dr. Farhan Salik, Secretaries PDGR social wing conducted the virtual Pakistan independence day program with great patriotism and fervor.
Dr. Asad Ullah Roomi paid great tributes to leaders of Pakistan freedom movement that coined us an independent homeland. He also apprised the honorable guests and participants about the scope of services PDGR is providing to the underprivileged community in Riyadh. He greatly appreciated the help and support by PDGR executive and general body members, community members, and Pakistan Embassy in this noble cause.
The event was concluded with collective Duas by eminent scholar Moulana Malik Mujahid. He conducted a special dua session for the solidarity and prosperity of our beloved country Pakistan, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the entire Muslim Ummah.
