Riyadh – World Business Group WBG & Nawazinda group bids farewell to the outgoing Indian Ambassador Dr. Ausaf Sayeed and his wife Mrs.Farha Sayeed at a hotel in diplomatic quarters of Riyadh.

The graceful farewell ceremony was highly attended by a number of Ambassadors & diplomats representing various countries, Saudi dignitaries, Indian businessmen, community heads, and media personnel.

Speaking on the occasion the outgoing Indian Ambassador Dr. Ausaf Sayeed thanked the hosts and the attendees for giving him a great farewell.

The Ambassador termed his tenure as a memorable one, “It’s been a great journey for me as one-third of my diplomatic life i. e. almost ten years has been spent in Saudi Arabia on different positions. I had seen the great transformation of this country, especially under the Saudi vision 2030”.

Visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Kingdom

Talking about his tasks and achievements he remarked on the historic visit of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the rehabilitation of more than 800,000 Indian expatriates during the pandemic. He praised the efforts made by the officials of the Indian embassy and the close contact support by the Indian community during the rehabilitation process.

The Ambassador also mentioned the Hajj arrangements done by the Indian embassy for the Indian pilgrims during 2019, “We managed to accommodate successfully more than 200,000 Hajj pilgrims in 2019, the second-largest number of pilgrims after Indonesia”, he added.

Talking about international affairs the ambassador has said, “currently we are passing through a difficult international diplomacy task in wake of the recent situation between Russia and Ukraine. Many Indian expatriates and students are stuck in the warzone, we successfully managed to rehabilitate 8,000 Indian students from Ukraine so far”, he mentioned.

“I will continue to serve in a new role assigned to me by the Indian foreign ministry to strengthen the diplomatic ties between the two countries and will do my best to achieve our common goals”, he concluded.

Earlier, CEO of WBG and Nawazinda Group Eng. Shakeel Khan commended the best services of His Excellency Ambassador Dr. Ausaf Sayeed and declared him as the “People’s Ambassador”.

“During his period several bilateral MOU and bilateral business ties signoff to boost and strength bilateral relation & businesses. He managed to achieve theoretical trade target of $1.6 billion in the year of pandemic 2021”, Eng. Shakeel added.

Dr. Ashraf Ali, Director WBG, welcomed the guests in his opening remarks and praised the efforts of the outgoing ambassador, “Under his administration, His Excellency Ambassador Ausaf has strengthened the bilateral relations and delivered his best for the Indian community”, he said.

Czech Ambassador Juraj Koudelka and a noted Indian businessman Amir Qayyum also talked on the occasion and shared their thoughts for the outgoing Indian Ambassador.

The Ambassadors and diplomats attended the farewell representing Finland, Turkey, Denmark, Poland, Kenya, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, and some other countries.

The farewell ceremony was ably conducted by Abdul Nayeem Qayyum, He also dedicated his poetry to the outgoing Indian Ambassador. WBG & Nawazinda Group presented a memento to H. E. Ambassador Ausaf for his great services. Ambassador Engineer Alaudeen Alaskary, former deputy minister of foreign affairs handed over the momento to Ambassador Dr. Ausaf Sayeed.
