Saudi National Day 2024 long weekend for employees and students. Saudi Arabia will celebrate a long weekend this month in honor of the Kingdom’s 94th Saudi National Day, which takes place on September 23. This significant date marks the historical unification of the Kingdoms of Najd and Hijaz by King Abdulaziz in 1932.
Saudi National Day 2024 long weekend for employees and students
This year, National Day falls on a Monday, creating an extended break for many employees due to the weekend preceding it. With the traditional Friday-Saturday weekend, workers will have an additional day off on Sunday, September 22, making it a four-day weekend. This extended break also applies to students, who will have September 22 off according to the academic calendar set by the education ministry.
The holiday is set to be celebrated with various activities, including events, performances, and air force demonstrations, as citizens and residents gather to participate in the festivities across the Kingdom.
Last month, the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) introduced the theme for this year’s celebrations. The theme, “We Dream, We Achieve,” continues from the previous year and emphasizes the Kingdom’s ongoing transformation and the ambitious projects outlined in Saudi Vision 2030.
Among the highlighted projects in this year’s theme are THE LINE Project, which envisions a futuristic urban development; the Sindalah Project, aimed at creating a new luxury island destination; and the Electric Car (CEER) Project, focusing on advancing sustainable transportation. These projects represent key elements of Saudi Arabia’s broader vision for modernization and development.
