Waqar Naseem Wamiq, Riyadh – An interactive Teen Media Talk organized by Riyadh based Alif International school at their premises on the happy occasion of the school’s 10th anniversary. Under the theme of “Alif@10eventia” that highly attended by the school’s staff, students and management. As well as eminent Pakistani, Indian and Saudi Media personals.

Renowned journalist and Managing Editor of Arab News, Siraj Wahab graced the occasion as the chief guest. And, as the keynote speaker of the day.

The program was ably conducted by Sundus Sabir Chaudhry and Shameer PK. The program formally started with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Followed by a welcome note by the School’s principal Mohammed Mustafa.

The principal mentioned the importance of Media and has said, “Media has become so important that everyone in the world wants to be informed. This is why we decided to highlight the importance of media in this modern era of information technology. So that children can learn and take guidance for the future. And, also to know about the positive role and impact of the media”, he said.

Siraj Wahab

Speaking on the occasion the chief guest Siraj Wahab has said. “The media plays a vital role in the development and stability of any country with its positive role. The media exposes the shortcomings and weaknesses of the society and identifies the evils and transforms them into good. Media has the important status of the fourth pillar of the state”, he said.

Siraj Wahab further told the students that working in the media is also easy and difficult. “All those media peoples who work diligently day and night to spread the right news are appreciable”, He continued.

“Print, electronic and social media easily available in today’s fast-paced world. We read a lot of true and fake news every day. It’s important to identify between the positive and the negative news. The best is to ignore and skip the fake materials and rely on the trusted and official source of news. We cannot blame any media when we approach it erroneously. Students should be able to differentiate the good and bad of media like everything else in life”, Siraj concluded.

Waqar Naseem Wamiq

Poet, writer & journalist, Waqar Naseem Wamiq highlighted the role of media in his speech. “Media is like a mirror which shows us the bare and harsh realities of life. It works as an informer, an educator, and an opinion influencer”. He said,

Waqar Wamiq encouraged the students to become future journalists and writers. “Media is the necessity of the world, the world needs it. Media can be the best professional choice, it’s same as to become doctors, engineers or IT professionals. A better change can make in the society when good and educated peoples become the part of media”, he concluded.

Firstly, Teen Media Talk showcased an interesting Q&A session between the students and the journalists. Secondly, Luqman Pazhur and Muhammad Ahmad gave away the mementos to the guests. Lastly, the program formally ended on a vote of thanks by Ali Bukhari.
