Here’s what you need to know about this remarkable project.

King Abdullah International Gardens – Opening in 2025

Scheduled to open in 2025, the gardens will be located in the Tuwaiq desert, just outside Riyadh. This ambitious project aspires to rival world-renowned botanical gardens like Kew Gardens in London and Singapore Botanical Gardens. Upon completion, it is expected to attract over three million visitors annually from both local and international markets.

A Journey Through Earth’s History

King Abdullah International Gardens will feature the world’s largest temperature-controlled gardens, showcasing 400 million years of Earth’s plant evolution. Visitors will have the opportunity to explore various periods, including the Jurassic, Cretaceous, Devonian, Carboniferous, Cenozoic, and Paleobotanic eras. This unique educational experience will provide insights into the history of our planet’s flora.

Diverse Garden Sections

The site will be divided into several themed gardens. The final garden, known as The Garden of Choices, will be housed in a crescent-shaped building. This educational space will explore how today’s lifestyle choices can impact the future of our planet. Additionally, The Butterfly Garden will offer visitors a chance to admire and stroll through a garden filled with colorful butterflies.
