Red Sea International Airport (RSI) is 80% Complete
Fasten your seatbelts as the Red Sea International Airport (RSI) approaches its grand opening. Currently, 80% of the construction is complete, with the main terminal’s concrete and steel structures fully in place. The installation of vital mechanical systems is also finished, according to updates from the airport’s official X account.
Connecting Jeddah, Riyadh, and Tabuk
Strategically located in Tabuk, the new airport is set to handle one million passengers annually by 2030. It has already begun flights from Riyadh and Jeddah, further enhancing connectivity within Saudi Arabia.
Sustainability at the Forefront
The Red Sea International Airport is a cornerstone of the Saudi Vision 2030 initiative, emphasizing sustainable and luxurious travel. The airport will operate entirely on renewable energy, aligning with the ambitious environmental goals of the Red Sea regenerative tourism project.
Unique Design and Features
The airport boasts a unique curved structure with five centrally arranged pods for arrivals and departures, reflecting the natural desert surroundings. A standout feature is the absence of a baggage claim area; instead, luggage will be delivered directly to guests’ hotel rooms, ensuring a seamless travel experience.
Prime Location
Located 15 kilometers inland from the Red Sea in Tabuk, RSI is perfectly positioned to serve as the gateway to the luxurious Red Sea Project, which includes the renowned destinations of The Red Sea, AMAALA, and Thuwal.
