The ministry of education released the information about exam delays and temporary school hours shortened for Thursday. The reason for the changes is due to the solar eclipse.
The rare annular eclipse will be witnessed in the Kingdom. The eclipse will start at 5.30 am and ends at approximately 7.45 am. The Ministry of Education fears that the eclipse may be dangerous because of ultraviolet radiation. Looking directly at the sun with the naked eye can cause damage to the eyes.
Any exams or school hours will be delayed. Some of the schools also released notices to parents and teachers. Jawahir Al Riyadh School will be starting at 8.45 am. The school will finish at 11.00 am. Ministry also suggested other schools to follow similar times for any exams or school hours.
We would suggest checking with the school management as soon as possible.
Other Countries Affected by Solar Eclipse
Saudi Arabia is not the only country getting affected by Eclipse. Arab Countries like the United Arab Emirates and Qatar will also be affected. Other Countries which will be affected are:
- India
- Srilanka
- Bangladesh
- Indonesia
- Singapore
- and some other parts of the world are also on this list.
