Crowdstrike: The National Cyber Security Advisory Center has issued a high-risk security alert regarding a technical glitch in CrowdStrike’s Falcon Sensor program. Announced today, this glitch has caused significant disruptions in systems utilizing the program. The root cause has been identified as a recent program update.

Recommendations for Affected Systems – Crowdstrike:
To mitigate the issue, the Advisory Center advises following CrowdStrike’s recommended procedures:

Run in Safe Mode or Environment Recovery System:

    • Start your system in Safe Mode.
    • Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike.

    Delete the Problematic File:

      • Locate and delete the file named “C-00000291*.sys”.
      • This can be done manually by deleting the file directly from the specified folder.

      Restart Your System:

        • After deleting the file, restart your system using the command Shutdown /r.
        • Once restarted, start the system normally to ensure the problem is resolved.

        Alternative MethodCrowdstrike:

        • You can also run the following command in Safe Mode to delete the file:
          del "C:\Windows\System32\drivers\CrowdStrike\C-00000291*.sys"
