Overtime Allowance for Specific Workers in Saudi Arabia. The recent Resolution No. (142), dated 02/09/1446 AH, and published in Umm Al-Qura newspaper, outlines several important directives regarding the payment of overtime allowances to specific health workers in Saudi Arabia. Here are the key points:

The directives in the resolution should not impose any additional financial burdens on the state’s general budget.

Overtime Allowance for Specific Workers in Saudi Arabia – Continued Payment of Overtime Allowance:

Overtime allowances will continue to be paid to medical statisticians, home patient care assistants, administrative assistants, car drivers, security guards, messengers, and workers on wage items. These payments will be fixed amounts.

Conditions for Disbursement:

Workplace: The employee must be employed at a hospital, health center, or laboratory, and must work continuously as part of the medical team.

Working Hours: The employee must work 176 hours per month, including weekends and shift hours.

Allowance as an Alternative: This allowance will replace the rules for assigning work outside official hours and weekends.

Effective Period:

The allowance will be effective for two years starting from 6/6/1445 AH or until the completion of regulatory procedures to amend the Financial Rights and Benefits Regulations, whichever is sooner.

Budgetary Constraints:

The total cost of this allowance is capped at 52,421,400 riyals per fiscal year and will not exceed 4,527 employees.

Application by Government Agencies:

Government agencies providing health services must follow the mechanisms outlined in the resolution within the limits of their budgets.

Implementation Mechanisms:

Health authorities must implement strategies for dealing with employees not covered by health job regulations, particularly concerning work outside official hours. This includes modifying working hours or using flexible working hours systems to ensure employee distribution across shifts.

No Additional Financial Burden:

The directives in the resolution should not impose any additional financial burdens on the state’s general budget.
