Report by Waqar Naseem Wamiq, Riyadh. MDL BEAST Festival opened its doors to over 130,000 EDM fans on Thursday night breaking records. Day one of Saudi Arabia’s first ever multi-stage music festival and biggest display of LED installations since London 2012.
The crowd of true music fans danced their way through sets from international renowned stars. These stars include Tiësto, Martin Garrix, Black Coffee, Swizz Beatz, Rick Ross, and local talent Cosmicat, DJ Baloo, Dish Dash and Simi Haze.
The Big Beast Stage
The Main Stage ‘Big Beast’ recorded as the largest stage built in 2019. The stage was opened by Simi Haze. The Saudi born identical twin DJs who have been taking the fashion and music worlds by storm. He have now returned to their home country to perform at MDL Beast.
The 45,000-person capacity ‘Big Beast’ stage. The biggest stage built in the world this year. The Biggest Stage saw the dynamic duo kick off the festivities in awesome Saudi style!
Underground Beast District
In the Underground Beast district, visitors saw nineteen acts over three stages. These stages were made from containers all decorated by local graffiti artists. Combined with some of the best audio-visual equipment and design. The underground zones provided a uniquely different perspective to the Main Stage. Attracting huge crowds of local and international festival goers.
More Details of Day one
Day one of the three-day MDL Beast saw 22 shows put on by performers, all totally unique to MDL Beast. The Arts Beast district featured a series of incredible immersive performances and visual spectacular, while street theatre performers roamed the grounds interacting with guests.
As night fell, The Arts Beast district visitors were treated to scenes of stunning light parades and illuminated drumming troupes weaving their way through the festival.
