UAE announced Citizenship for investors, professionals, and their families on 30th January 2021. The news is welcomed by many expatriates who consider UAE their home and people who want to make UAE their home. Here is more information about citizenship.
UAE announced Citizenship for investors, professionals, and their families
UAE Vice President and Dubai ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum tweeted the news on his official profile. The amendments in law will grant citizenship to Scientists, doctors, engineers, artists, and authors. It also includes citizenship for investors and families of the professions stated above.
We adopted law amendments that allow granting the UAE citizenship to investors, specialized talents & professionals including scientists, doctors, engineers, artists, authors and their families. The new directives aim to attract talents that contribute to our development journey.

The UAE cabinet, local Emiri courts & executive councils will nominate those eligible for the citizenship under clear criteria set for each category. The law allows receivers of the UAE passport to keep their existing citizenship.

The criteria of eligibility are not announced yet but will be released soon. The existing citizenship of eligible people will be allowed to keep dual nationality, meaning their existing Passport.
