Two more Coronavirus vaccines approved by the Saudi Ministry of Health, AstraZeneca (collaboration with Oxford University) and Moderna. The news was published on Al-Arabiya Twitter and the Ministry of Health took the initiative after looking at data and the success of the first approved vaccine Pfizer. More details below.

Two more Coronavirus vaccines approved by the Saudi Ministry of Health

The First vaccine in the fight against Coronavirus (Pfizer) was approved by the Saudi Food and Drug Authority on 15th December 2020. After which many people have received the first and second dose of the vaccine. No side effects were detected so far in people who already received their doses. Saudi citizens and expatriates with valid Iqama can register their interest to get the vaccine from Sehaty.

The 4 vaccination centers in Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam, and Madinah have already vaccinated around 300,000 people so far in the Kingdom. The campaign started on December 17th and vaccinated these many people shows the MOH’s dedication and hard work.

After the second dose of the vaccine, individuals will also get an e-passport on their phones. To know more about the health passport, click here.
