The First-Ever Solar Powered Car by Toyota

First Ever Solar Powered

The First-Ever Solar Powered Car by Toyota ic currently under testing. We have seen quite a lot of electric cars and electric charging stations. But countries like the United Kingdom are also currently facing the issues of keeping up with the demand of users. Global Climate issues are becoming more deadly. Alternative Solutions besides diesel and petrol are required to continue commute and transportation without destroying the planet.

Toyota is collaborating with Sharp and NEDO (New Energy and Industrial Technology Development Organization of Japan). The purpose of the collaboration is to develop an alternative but effective solution for transportation. So there will be no need for charging. Most of the users are reluctant to move to current Electric Technology because of time to charge. The traditional Petrol and Diesel cars take only 2-3 minutes to fill but electric charge can take 45 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes. And we are talking about fast charging here. The normal socket charge can take 14 to 15 hours for a full charge.

Koji Makino, the project manager at Toyota said. ” The solar car’s advantage is that, while it can’t drive for a long-range, it’s really independent of charging facilities.” Also the car Toyota is trying to develop will be affordable compared to current options in the market. More affordable cars will be released by some manufacturers but currently, it is not for everyone.

However, the project manager ended the conversation with the sad news. ” This is not a technology we are going to see widely used in the next decades. It’s going to take a long time.”
