Saudi Music Hub will host 8 concerts from 11 to 20 November

Waqar Naseem Wamiq, Riyadh – The Delegation of the European Union in Riyadh, in cooperation with the Embassies of the EU Member States and the Saudi Music Commission, launched the 1st edition of the European Week of Music in Saudi Arabia. The Festival runs from 11-20 November at the Saudi Music Hub and entails eight concerts by various artists coming from different European countries. These include Portugal, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy, Estonia, Greece and the Netherlands.

This one-of-a-kind event at the Kingdom will bring to the local audience in Riyadh concerts by European artists ranging from jazz to pop and from folk to classical music. There will be something for everyone’s musical taste. The line-up includes La Società dei Concerti di Milano, a renowned string quartet from Italy, Rembrandt Frerichs Trio, an internationally known jazz trio from the Netherlands, and an award winning French singer Cynthia Queenton, just to name a few.

Mr. Christophe Farnuad EU Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, commented: “We are very proud to organize the 1st European Week of Music to contribute further to the vibrant cultural scene of the Kingdom. It is an excellent way for Europe and Saudi Arabia to further enhance cultural exchange and people-to-people dialogue through our mutual appreciation of music. We are very glad to partner with the Saudi Music Hub who hosts the event at their wonderful premises.”

The European Week of Music is aimed at introducing the richness of the European musical scene to the local audience, highlighting EU’s cultural diversity and forging connections between European and Saudi music professionals. Besides engaging concerts, the European Week of Music also entails two dedicated workshops by visiting European artists aimed at building ties and sharing experiences with local musicians.
