Saudi Customs increased the fees for food including meat & dairy. On 28th May 2020, Thursday, the General Authority of Customs announced a list of food commodities scheduled to raise customs duties. The change will be implemented from June 10, according to Cabinet Decision No. 559 dated 28/8/1441 AH.

Saudi Customs increased the fees for food products

The list included imposing 7% duties on mutton and goats for slaughter. These were exempt from customs earlier, and raising fees for other animal meat and fresh, chilled and frozen birds from 20% to 25%.

It also included raising fees on fish of all kinds, by 3% to 6%, in addition to dairy products and drinks of all kinds and their derivatives, by 5% to 10%. Below is the full list of products that will see the difference in custom fees.

For now, there is no news that the retail prices will be changed. But it is expected to see some difference in the products prices by sellers.
