Saudi Arabia start preparation for Hajj season, visas, security and more
In anticipation of the upcoming Hajj season, Saudi transport authorities are urging private sector institutions involved in the annual pilgrimage to implement early security measures.
The focus lies on preventing the transportation of explosive substances in Mecca and Medina during the month leading up to the Hajj season. Security agencies will conduct field inspections of projects using explosives in holy places, ensuring overall safety.
The Ministry of Defence plans to deploy explosives disposal experts at entry points a month before the pilgrimage rites begin. Saudi Arabia, with approximately 2 million pilgrims expected, has initiated early preparations, implementing a new strategy for this year’s Hajj.
The allocation of designated places for countries at holy sites will be based on finalized contracts, prioritizing early agreements. The issuance of Hajj visas is scheduled to begin on March 1, aiming to streamline preparations for this obligatory Islamic duty.
