The World Health Organization (WHO) recently declared a public health emergency following reports of a new variant of the Monkeypox virus. This new strain has been spreading internationally, with the first confirmed case outside Africa reported in Sweden on Thursday. Pakistan also announced a case of Monkeypox on Friday in a patient who had recently returned from a Gulf country, although the specific strain of the virus has not yet been identified.

Saudi Arabia’s Response

Despite the global situation, Saudi Arabia remains unaffected by this new strain. Weqaya emphasized the readiness and robustness of the Kingdom’s health sector in dealing with various health risks. According to the statement:
