In response to an inquiry, Musaned has clarified the regulations regarding the new recruitment system. While expatriates cannot apply for visas for domestic workers from their own countries, they are still allowed to recruit domestic workers from other nationalities.

Expatriates interested in hiring domestic help are advised to familiarize themselves with the detailed rules, regulations, and financial criteria required for obtaining a visa. You can find these details on the official Musaned website.

The platform has also outlined the financial prerequisites for expatriates wishing to employ domestic workers. For the issuance of an initial recruitment visa, an expatriate must have a minimum monthly salary of SR10,000 and provide evidence of financial stability with a bank document showing a balance of at least SR100,000.

For a second visa issuance, the minimum salary requirement for a resident employee increases to SR20,000, along with the requirement for proof of financial capability supported by a bank balance sheet totaling SR200,000.

Expatriates must validate their financial capability with a certificate issued by the General Organization for Social Insurance (GOSI), which includes a statement of their monthly wage. This certificate must be submitted within 60 days from the date of the visa application.

Musaned, established by the Ministry as the official portal for household services and home employment initiatives, provides various services aimed at simplifying and enhancing the process of hiring domestic workers, all while closely monitoring and improving the domestic worker sector in Saudi Arabia.
