New GCC visa to simplify travel

Indeed, if you currently reside in Saudi Arabia, it appears that in the near future, it will become significantly more convenient to travel to Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and the UAE.

What’s even more noteworthy is that these plans, which are currently in their initial phases, appear to extend to both residents and citizens.

The proposed visa structure was recently discussed by Abdulla bin Touq, the UAE’s Minister of Economy. According to a report in The National, he stated, “I believe this is something that has been under consideration. It aligns with the overall tourism strategies of the GCC.”

He added, “Hopefully, we will witness the introduction of a comprehensive GCC visa that facilitates the movement of individuals within the GCC. For instance, a resident of Saudi Arabia will be able to enter the UAE, and vice versa. This is the direction we envision for the future of tourism in the GCC.”

The exact launch date for such a visa remains uncertain, but you can rely on Time Out to keep you informed with the latest updates.

This development follows a series of modifications to the GCC visa framework that have been implemented over the past few years.
