Massive crackdown of illegal residents and more than 10,000 were deported. Saudi Arabia has expelled over 10,000 undocumented residents as part of an ongoing effort to enforce its laws, according to a security official.

The Saudi border guard spokesperson, Col Misfer Al Quraini, mentioned that field campaigns are in progress nationwide to identify law violators. Violating Saudi border security regulations may lead to a prison term of up to 30 months and a maximum fine of SR25,000.

In the last week of January, the Saudi Interior Ministry reported a total of 17,896 individuals detained for violating residency, labor, and border security laws. The arrests included 10,874 for residency breaches, 4,123 for border security violations, and 2,899 foreigners breaking labor laws.

Legal actions are being taken against 56,686 individuals, with some referred to diplomatic missions for travel documents and others in the process of finalizing travel arrangements. Additionally, seven people were arrested for aiding violators, with the Interior Ministry warning of severe penalties for those facilitating illegal entry. The nationwide campaign, known as “A country without a violator,” continues its efforts to address irregular expatriates.
