Interior Ministry Records Over 21000 Violations: The Ministry of Interior recently conducted extensive inspection campaigns across the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia from July 25 to July 31, 2024, aimed at ensuring adherence to residency, labor, and border security regulations. The outcomes of these inspections have highlighted significant violations.

Interior Ministry Records Over 21000 Violations – Summary of Violations

During the inspection period, authorities documented a total of 21,049 violations. This included:

Residency Regulations: 13,209 breaches
Border Security: 5,177 violations
Labor Laws: 2,663 infractions

Border Security Enforcement

In efforts to curb illegal border crossings, 1,540 individuals were apprehended for attempting to enter the Kingdom unlawfully. The demographic breakdown of these individuals includes:

43% Yemenis
56% Ethiopians
1% from other nationalities

Additionally, 42 people were detained for attempting to exit the Kingdom illegally.

Arrests for Facilitating Violations

Further enforcement actions led to the arrest of five individuals found to be involved in the transportation, sheltering, and employment of violators. These actions are part of a broader initiative to address and mitigate illegal activities related to residency and employment.

Ongoing Procedures for Expatriates

Currently, 13,013 expatriates, comprising 11,560 men and 1,453 women, are undergoing procedures to enforce regulations. Within this group:

5,374 individuals have been detained for violating laws and instructed to contact their respective embassies or consulates to secure proper travel documentation.
2,181 individuals have been directed to finalize their travel bookings for departure.
1,294 have already been repatriated.

Strict Penalties for Facilitating Illegal Entry

The Ministry of Interior has issued a strict warning regarding the facilitation of illegal entry into the Kingdom. Those found guilty of aiding, transporting, sheltering, or providing any form of assistance to violators may face severe penalties, including:

Up to 15 years in prison
Fines reaching SR1 million
Confiscation of vehicles used for transporting violators
Confiscation of houses used for sheltering violators

Reporting Violations

Emphasizing the gravity of these offenses, the ministry classified them as major crimes warranting arrest. The public is encouraged to report any violations by calling:

911 in the Makkah, Riyadh, and Eastern regions
999 and 996 in other parts of the Kingdom

These measures and the results of the recent inspections reflect the Kingdom’s commitment to maintaining stringent control over residency, labor, and border security laws, aiming to enhance overall compliance and security within Saudi Arabia.
