Father – by my side
By: Ruba Farooqui
Fathers, like mothers, are pillars in the development of our well-being. He is always a feeling of security in us, both in physical and emotional means. Fathers play a major role in our intellectual, language, and social development which in turn helps us to excel in academics, gain self-confidence, attain good self-esteem and authenticity. Though the generations are changing but still fathers are serving children the same.
“FATHER” – by my side By Ruba Farooqui
Fathers give spiritual direction and maintain discipline in children. He creates a safe and loving environment for the family, brings joy to our faces during our stressful times, laughs with us during good times and supports us financially by attaining to our basic needs and sometimes spoil us with handsome money😊 and giving the best career advice that we would actually first-time need in our lives.
Fathers are considered as a best friend to their daughter’s and a constant source of guidance to their sons. For a daughter when the time comes to gets married, she will always look at the qualities of her father in her husband. A father who is kind, gentle, and loving will be a perfect example of qualities to look for in her would-be husband. A son would be implementing a similar kind of life skills and qualities that he has been looking at in his father.
Finally, on this Father’s Day, it is important to recognize and reward dads for being there, and actively teaching important life skills to children. But, Can we return all favors that a father has done? Of course, we cannot, although, as children, we must keep our father happy, love him, show respect, and always bring a smile on his face. As understood from the sayings of Prophet SAW that “Allah’s pleasure is in the pleasure of the parents (father and mother), and Allah’s displeasure is in the displeasure of the parents (father and mother)” (Ref: Sunan al-Tirmidhi 1899) and do not say an “uff” (expression of displeasure, irritation, anger, showing disrespect, etc.…) to them (Ref: Al Isra:23 ). This, after all, is what makes life worth living. This is the father’s true legacy: ensuring the health and well-being of his children, that future generation to be.
I am very thankful to you papa for making me what I am today, will always be indebted to you.
-Happy Father’s Day!
