Chances of dust and thunderstorms in Makkah & Madina
Today (Sunday), the National Center of Meteorology issued alerts of raised dust and thunderstorms in a number of regions, and moderate to heavy rain in others including Makkah & Madina.
The center indicated that parts of the regions of Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Al-Madinah Al-Munawwarah will witness raised dust and thunderstorms accompanied by activity in surface winds and a decrease in the range of vision, indicating that the situation begins in Makkah Al-Mukarramah at nine in the morning and in Madina at 12 in the afternoon, and the situation will continue until ten in the evening.
He added that a number of cities in the regions of Al-Baha and Asir will witness thunderstorms accompanied by an activity of surface winds, pointing out that the situation will start at 11 am and continue until eight in the evening.
He said that he expects the cities of Taif, Adham, Al-Arradiyat and Maysan in Makkah Al-Mukarramah region to witness moderate to heavy rain, with activity in surface winds, a decrease in the range of visibility, hail and torrential rain, indicating that the situation begins at 11 am and continues until 10 pm.
