Breakthrough Labor Reform initiative
The breakthrough labor reform initiative will come into force from Sunday [Tomorrow, March 14th, 2021] announced by the Ministry of Human Resources & Social Development.
The contractual relationship will be improved between employers & employees with this initiative in the private sector.
The Saudi employment market is expected to gain wide-ranging positive effects with this initiative.
November 4th, 2021
HRSD launched the labor reforms initiative last year, refurbishing the 7-decade-old sponsorship system [Kafala System].
The initiative allows the following reforms without the permission of the employer;
- Enhanced job mobility: Transfer of jobs from one company to another. Upon the expiry of his work contract without the necessity for the company’s consent.
- The issuance of Exit Re-Entry visas: Exit Re-Entry visa allows expatriates, workers, to travel from Saudi Arabia & return back to the Kingdom. It is by submitting the application by notifying the company electronically.
- Final Exit visas: It allows workers (Expatriates), to leave the Kingdom immediately or during the period of the work after its termination.
