22000 violations where violators and expats were arrested. A recent nationwide joint field campaign to monitor and apprehend individuals violating residency, labor, and border security regulations was conducted across the Kingdom from 5th to 11th September 2024 (2/3/1446 AH to 8/3/1446 AH). The campaign resulted in the arrest of thousands of violators from various sectors.

22000 violations where violators and expats were arrested – Total Violators Apprehended

During the campaign, authorities apprehended a total of 22,373 individuals involved in illegal activities across three main categories:

Residency law violations: 14,216 individuals.
Border security violations: 4,943 individuals.
Labor law violations: 3,214 individuals.

Illegal Entry and Exit

In addition to these arrests, the campaign targeted those attempting to cross the Kingdom’s borders illegally:

Illegal entry arrests: 1,507 individuals, including:
46% Yemeni nationals.
53% Ethiopian nationals.
1% from other nationalities.
Illegal exit arrests: 80 individuals apprehended while attempting to leave the Kingdom unlawfully.

Facilitators of Violations

Authorities also apprehended individuals aiding these violations:

Arrests of facilitators: 7 individuals involved in transporting, sheltering, or employing violators were detained.

Enforcement Actions on Expatriates

A significant number of expatriates are currently undergoing enforcement proceedings:

Total expatriates under enforcement: 15,536, including 14,203 men and 1,333 women.
Enforcement progress:
6,395 expatriates referred to their respective diplomatic missions to acquire travel documents.
2,030 individuals directed to complete travel reservations.
13,475 expatriates deported.

Penalties for Assisting Violators

The Ministry of Interior has issued a strict warning against aiding violators of border security:

Penalties include:
Up to 15 years of imprisonment.
Fines reaching one million riyals.
Confiscation of vehicles and properties used to shelter violators.
Public defamation.

The Ministry emphasized that these offenses are considered serious crimes, leading to immediate arrest and being classified as breaches of honor and trust.
